Relevant CEO Petri Kokkonen is joining IAB Finland’s board of directors

IAB Finland, the association of digital media and marketing industries in Finland, has elected a new board at the general assembly on Wednesday 22th November. Relevants CEO Petri Kokkonen was elected for the period 2018. The new chairman of the board will be elected at the first board meeting. The board is replacing half of the board member every year. The new board is comprised of five media representatives and seven representatives from digital marketing companies.
One of the new board members is Petri Kokkonen, CEO of Relevant Digital. Petri commented on his new role:
“It’s great to get this opportunity to serve the whole industry participating in to IAB board. Right now, IAB Finland is focusing to make data- and advertising market more transparent, this is also really important for Relevant and for me personally”.

Themes for 2018 are quality of advertising and responsibility
The focus of IAB Finland’s 2018 is on the quality and accountability of advertising. The EU General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR, will come into force on May 25th 2018 and will become an important focus area for IAB Finland’s activities. “GDPR brings a lot of good things to the industry, it forces the players to pay attention to advertising coverage and accountability both in their own and in their chosen partners,” says IAB Finland’s Executive Director Birgitta Takala.
